Background & objectives: The job satisfaction along with high levels of the general health of the workers can lead to a better performance, reduction of occupational accidents, and consequently increased efficiency. The main purpose of this research is determining the relation between the job satisfaction and HSE performance of the staff at the Mehr Darou Pharmaceutical Company.
Methods: In this descriptive-analytic research the statistical population is the staff (N=100) at the Mehr Darou Pharmaceutical Company who have been identified as samples by using the Cochran formula and Morgan table (N=80). The main instrument of this research is a questionnaire that its validity has been confirmed according to the opinion of several faculty members at the universities and its reliability has been measured by Cornbach’s method. The factor is obtained for the HSE performance, 0.86 and for the job satisfaction, 0.92. Data has been analyzed by using the SPSS-21 software and these data have been ranked with AHP technique and Expert Choice 11 software.
Results: Findings indicate that the responsibility has earned the highest rank in the ranking of the job satisfaction indexes of the staff, and the performance measurement has obtained the highest rank in the ranking of the HSE performance indexes. Also, these findings show that there is a positive and meaningful (logical) relation between HSE performance and job satisfaction (except to the supply and safety indexes with rest of indexes) at the five percent level. In regression analysis, it is observed that the nature of the work and success affects the HSE performance rather than other variables. Also, the responsibility is the first priority and the wage is the ninth priority in the AHP ranking.
Conclusion: According to the meaningful (logical) relation between job satisfaction and HSE performance (except to the supply and safety indexes), the HSE performance of the staff will be improved when an organization pay more attention to the job satisfaction indexes.
